As part of the first edition of Tanztriennale in Hamburg in June 2026, ‘Moving Meetings' are monthly gatherings for dance professionals of all genres, dance cultures, roles and backgrounds to come together to reflect, engage, share and be curious about each other’s practices, beliefs and experiences. Through these meetings the Tanztriennale would like to foster dialogue and exchange on relevant themes and across boundaries that often separate the different dance communities, encouraging a spirit of openness and mutual discovery.

For Moving Meeting #8, the format travels to Dresden as a collaboration between Tanzplattform Deutschland 2026, Tanztriennale Hamburg, and Palucca University of Dance Dresden, and will explore the theme of communication in education and professional practice. What role does communication play in shaping learning environments? In what ways have production processes evolved to reflect new forms of dialogue and interaction? And how is the increasing agency of students and dancers influencing artistic creation?

The session opens with a physical introduction to the theme, led by Noé Valdes Vega, followed by contributions from Kinsun Chan (Director, Semperoper Ballett), Katharina Christl (Rector, Palucca University of Dance Dresden), Alexander Miller & Chiara de Nobili (Choreographers, Miller de Nobili) and Elias Stefanescu (BA Student, Palucca University of Dance Dresden). A facilitated discussion and collective exchange, moderated by Monica Gillette (Artistic Co-Director of Tanztriennale), will round out the session.
